Surabaya, 9 March 2023 – The Food and Beverage industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth in recent years. People are increasingly aware of the quality and variety of drinks, which is driving demand for skilled baristas who are experts in serving the perfect drink.

In March, The Alana Surabaya held the Student Mocktail Competition 2024. The Mocktail Competition held by The Alana Surabaya is a forum for students who want to become baristas to show their abilities in the art of presenting stunning mocktails. It is hoped that through this competition, non-alcoholic drinks will be created with good modifications that meet the hotel's desired standards. This is also to increase the competency of bartenders so they can be creative and not just focus on alcoholic drinks.

The theme of all the drinks is “Mocktails with Love”. with the basic ingredients from the main sponsor being syrup and juice from TOZA Juice, along with coffee and milk from PT Bahana Genta Victory. The total number of participants was 15 people from all schools or universities in East Java. The competition featured three winners from the three categories contested. The 3 judges for this competition are Bonny Harun (Toza Juice), Michael Ivan (F&B Manager Aston Sidoarjo), and Ade Rizky Fajar (F&B Manager The Alana Surabaya)

"Apart from mental training and competitiveness, the main aim of holding this competition is to find young people so that in the future they can immediately work in hotels under the auspices of the Archipelago Group. ” said Ade Rizky Fajar, F&B Manager.
