Surabaya, 19 May 2024 – In commemoration of the 731st Anniversary of the City of Surabaya, The Alana Surabaya participated in the 2024 Rujak Uleg Festival at the Surabaya City Hall. This event took place in the Surabaya City Hall courtyard and presented various interesting activities to enliven this annual celebration. This year's festival carries the grand theme "The History of Rujak Cingur", which aims to explore and introduce the history and uniqueness of Surabaya's traditional culinary delights, namely rujak cingur. This festival, which is full of enthusiasm and taste, is an opportunity for various groups to show their skills in preparing one of Surabaya's typical dishes, Rujak cingur.
At this year's festival, The Alana Surabaya succeeded in winning 2nd place in the Rujak Uleg Creation Competition, and the 2024 Best Presenter Category. With the theme of Surabaya - Dutch decoration during the colonial period, The Alana Surabaya wants the public to understand the history of this typical Surabaya food. So, in this activity, The Alana Surabaya also displays the funniest chants that have been prepared with costumes from the Dutch colonial period.
