Yogyakarta, July 28, 2024 – In celebration of World Conservation Day, The Alana Malioboro joined forces with Moana Bike Tour to plant 1000 mangroves along the pristine shores of Samas Beach in Bantul, Yogyakarta. This impactful event brought together approximately 60 participants, including influencers and collaborators such as Dowa, Roku, Kazu, and representatives from supporters Kahf and Wardah.
The Alana Malioboro’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) extends beyond luxury hospitality. The mangrove planting initiative aims to restore coastal ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and combat climate change.
General Manager Joezar Rinaldi expressed his vision for the future: “May our efforts contribute to preserving our coastline, and may we continue to plant even more mangroves perhaps 10,000 or even 100,000 in Yogyakarta.” The event commenced at 7:30 AM with a briefing and welcoming remarks from the organizing committee and General Manager The Alana Malioboro, Joezar Rinaldi. Anita Briana, Founder of MOANA Bike Tour, expressed gratitude: “Alhamdulillah, our dream of planting 1000 mangroves along Jogja’s southern coast has become a reality. This is a significant contribution to Samas Beach.”
Beyond tree planting, all participants actively engaged in a beach cleanup—a vital effort to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of our coastal environment. The organizers hope that this initiative will inspire other companies, communities, and local residents to protect our planet for generations to come
