The Alana Solo Enhances Disaster Preparedness: Strategic Collaboration with PMI and Karanganyar Fire Department

Karanganyar, August 30, 2024 – In response to the potential threat of natural disasters, The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Solo has partnered with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and the Karanganyar Fire Department to provide comprehensive training to all employees and trainees. The training, held on August 29-30, aims to enhance staff readiness for emergency situations, ensuring the safety of guests and maintaining the integrity of the hotel’s building and facilities.

The first training session was led by the PMI Karanganyar team, equipping participants with in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and first aid techniques for disaster victims. In addition to theoretical lessons, participants engaged in hands-on practice to ensure that every first aid step can be performed accurately and swiftly in real-life situations.

Next, the Karanganyar Fire Department team presented material on the use of fire extinguishers, their various types, and disaster management strategies based on the classification of the cause. This training was designed to ensure that every employee understands how to identify the source of a disaster and take appropriate steps to handle it, from fires to other potential threats.

On the second day, all participants underwent a fire simulation in the hotel area. The emergency siren was sounded, and staff were tasked with evacuating victims from the first floor to a designated safe assembly point in front of the hotel. Guests staying at the hotel were pre-warned to avoid panic during the simulation. Each employee also practiced extinguishing fires using fire extinguishers in front of the hotel, providing an opportunity for all staff to sharpen their skills in handling emergency situations.

Through this training, The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Solo aims to create a safer and more disaster-prepared environment, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to providing the best service for all guests.
