Malang - October 6, 2024 - The Alana Hotel Malang celebrates National Batik Day. The series began on October 2, 2024 by wearing batik clothes and launching a stay promo bundling rooms with batik cloth. Followed on October 6, 2024 with a batik showcase and handkerchief “mbatik” class.

 

This time The Alana Hotel Malang opened a handkerchief batik class in collaboration with Soendari Batik & Art. In this short-duration class, Mbah Sugik as the teacher gave a lot of knowledge about batik. Starting from the history of batik, introducing types of batik and basic batik practices.

 

The participants were very diverse, ranging from children, teenagers, young people to adults, aka mothers who want to introduce batik culture to their children. “I am very happy this weekend to be able to spend time with my child by learning batik. This is my chance to introduce Indonesian culture from an early age by showing the process so that they don't just wear batik clothes on Fridays.”
