Dewa 19 Sky Lounge owned by The Alana Hotel Malang held another competition. On this occasion The Alana Hotel Malang called young baristas throughout East Java to show their abilities. These young baristas are challenged to create a predetermined latte art.

 

The Alana Hotel Malang has a proud outlet, Dewa 19 Sky Lounge. Not only serving mocktails but also coffee drinks. Successful with its bartender competition, this time it wanted to repeat the same thing but give opportunities to young baristas.

 

When the event took place, there were 30 participants throughout East Java. The concept of the competition this time was a battle between 2 participants. Round 1 all participants were challenged to make a love pattern with a duration of 5 minutes. Round 2, as an elimination round, was challenged to make a 5-stack tulip flower pattern with a duration of 5 minutes. Finally, the final round challenged participants to create a signature pattern in 2 cups. Pattern signature is an opportunity for baristas to make latte art as creative as possible. The challenge this time is slightly different to the 2 cups filled must have the same and identical signature pattern within 7 minutes.

Every day I am used to making latte art, it turns out that it feels different to make latte art for customers and in front of the judges. This is a memorable experience for me to overcome the pressure and to keep giving my best in every work.” said Jesnita Ade Yuniar as a participant who passed the semifinals.

The first place was won by Abiyyu Resta. The winners received cash prizes, trophies and stay vouchers at The Alana Hotel Malang. The second winner was Jesnita Ade Yuniar and the third winner was Ragil Restuvani.
