Still in the series of the first Anniversary of The Alana Hotel Malang. On this occasion The Alana Hotel Malang held a special competition for students of Hospitality Vocational Schools in East Java. Titled Magnificent Alana “Making Bed Competition & Art Towel Creation Season 1 2024”, with the aim of giving students the opportunity to test and develop their competence in the field of housekeeping.

 

With a total of 31 registered participants, the event involved students from various cities in East Java, including Malang City, Blitar, Kediri, and Banyuwangi. “As part of our social responsibility, we want to provide a platform for hospitality vocational students to showcase their skills. We hope this event will not only test their skills, but also provide valuable experience and learning that can enrich their experience in the hospitality world,” said Sistho A. SRESHTHO, ST, CHA as General Manager of The Alana Hotel Malang. 

 

The competition was judged by three professional judges who are experienced in the field of housekeeping and hospitality. Judge 1 is Arif Hidayat as Chairman of Indonesian Housekeeper Association Malang, judge 2 is M. Fazrin Rizki Septiadi, CHM as Corporate Executive Housekeeper of The Archipelago International Management and judge 3 is Executive Housekeeper of The Alana Hotel Malang, Shanhaji. 

 

During the introduction of the judges, Arif Hidayat expressed his appreciation. “As the Chairperson of the Indonesian Housekeeper Association Malang, I really appreciate The Alana Hotel Malang for taking a positive step to revive the competition atmosphere that has been sorely missed by hospitality schools. Of course this step helps schools develop young talents in the world of hospitality, as well as giving them a space to compete in a healthy manner.” he said.

 

The competition ended unexpectedly, with all three winning positions being filled by young ladies. First place was won by Maria Alvira - SMK Cor Jesu Malang. Second place went to Aprilia Dia Afkarina - SMK 1 Banyuwangi and third place went to Ines Dinda Rahmadita - SMK Negeri 1 Turen. The winners received cash prizes and trophies from The Alana Hotel Malang. “For those who are not lucky, keep your spirits up, because we will hold Making Bed Competition & Art Towel Creation every year.” said Shanhaji as Executive Housekeeper of The Alana Hotel Malang.
