CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION KICKS OFF ARCHIPELAGO FOOD FESTIVAL 2025 AT THE ALANA YOGYAKARTA HOTEL & CONVENTION CENTER

The Archipelago Food Festival made its first appearance in 2025, coinciding with the Chinese New Year celebration at The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center on January 28, 2025. This special event was themed “Fortune Feast Chinese New Year Dinner.”

Twelve executive chefs and seven food and beverage managers from hotels across Yogyakarta and Central Java collaborated to present exquisite dishes and beverages, bringing warmth and excitement to the Chinese New Year celebration. The participating chefs included:

  • Chef Salman Bayhaqi – The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center

Denny Frederick, Corporate Executive Chef Archipelago, added, “This edition of the Archipelago Food Festival is unique and special as it coincides with Chinese New Year. We have carefully curated a selection of dishes to align with the theme and provide guests with the best dining experience.”

Corporate Food & Beverage Manager Archipelago, Denny S. Wasana, also shared, “For this Archipelago Food Festival, we have invited Food & Beverage Leaders from several Archipelago hotels in Yogyakarta and Solo. We wanted to involve our F&B Managers in presenting outstanding beverages such as Red Bean Coffee, Korean Goguma Latte, and Floral Elixir to complement this special Chinese New Year dinner.”

More than 200 dishes were served, including Eight Treasure Soup, symbolizing perfection and unity, and Siu Mie Beef, representing longevity. A wide selection of desserts, such as Moon Cake, Kue Keranjang, and many more, further enhanced the festive celebration. The event was also enlivened with exciting entertainment, including Barongsai and Liong performances, live music, and various door prizes for guests.
